The Dock Foreman provides an integral service to fishing vessels as they come to off-load at the Silver Bay Seafoods dock. They coordinate with Fleet, Plant and Production Managers, as well as fishing vessels to organize and schedule efficient offloads. The Dock Foreman typically runs a crew of 2-8 Dock Leads.
Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for a Fish House Supervisor to work at one of our processing facilities in Alaska. This position is seasonal and the incumbent will be expected to work 12-16 hours a day, 7 days a week. Room and board are provided as well as travel to and from the facility from Seattle.

Power plant operators perform a wide variety of tasks to ensure optimal and safe operation of equipment that produces and distributes electrical power. They may operate control systems, monitor gauges and meters, perform routine checks, maintain equipment and start or stop Power Plant Operator makes periodic inspections of equipment and minor repairs to such equipment; perform preventive maintenance; take responsible charge of a watch, read meters, gauges, and other recording devices and log the data; keep records and write reports; as directed, inspect low pressure boilers in accordance with a unified inspection procedure and may operate a motor vehicle. Power Plant Maintenance and Repair: + Monitor power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems + Regulate equipment operations and conditions, such as water levels, based on instrument data or from computers + Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking gland and pipe joints + Record and compile operational data by completing and maintaining forms, logs, or reports + Receive outage calls and call in necessary personnel during power outages and emergencies + Prepares equipment malfunction reports, makes inspections and from observation, determines whether equipment is operating properly + Take regulatory action, based on readings from charts, meters and gauges, at established intervals + Start or stop generators, auxiliary pumping equipment, or other power plant equipment as necessary + Inspect records or log book entries or communicate with plant personnel to assess equipment operating status + Control or maintain auxiliary equipment, such as pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, feed water heaters, filters, or chlorinators, to supply water, fuel, lubricants, air, or auxiliary power + Clean, lubricate, or maintain equipment, such as pumps, or compressors, to prevent failure or deterioration + Open and close valves and switches in sequence to start or shut down auxiliary units.

The Production Supervisor for one of our Processing Facilities in Alaska will provide support to the production department by assisting the Production Manager with production operations.
We are currently looking for experienced Production Supervisors from within the fishing industry to work in the Roe Room, Case Up and Fish House.
The Shipping Supervisor oversees the operation of the Shipping department while ensuring the staff follows GMP and safety policies to produce a high-quality, frozen product. The incumbent works closely with the Production Manager, AML drivers and the Case-up Department to ensure a smooth, consistent, quick-paced transition of product from Case-Up to its designated van. Additionally, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for a thorough documentation of all product loaded into containers, tracking of containers incoming and outgoing, as well as Quality Control documentation.
The Kitchen Chef will plan, direct, participate and supervise food service activities at the galley. This includes preparation and delivery of four daily meals for all employees. Meals are served buffet style. The Kitchen Chef will plan and develop recipes taking into account and food budget requirements while maintaining overall food quality & consistency.
The plant operates 24 hours/day 7 days a week during the processing season. This position requires being actively involved in food preparation while directing the activities of a prep cook and kitchen helpers. The Electrician is responsible for electrical maintenance of plant power issues, distributions, cords, plugs, motors and compressors. The incumbent performs highly-skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work involves technical application of electrical principals to many areas in the facility including heating, refrigeration, motors, fire alarms, electrical panels, electrical control room, and fish processing equipment. The incumbent sets an example for the department staff in work ethic, safety and attitude by working efficiently to maintain a high level of production for the seafood processing facility.

Our False Pass location will process salmon as well as white fish and will begin operations during the 2019 salmon season. Silver Bay Seafoods is currently looking for a Head of Refrigeration or Refrigeration Operator for one of our Processing Facilities in Alaska.
The incumbent will manage and maintain multiple systems of NH3 (anhydrous ammonia), R22(HCFC), R404A(HFC), R507(HFC) and other refrigerants as encountered in our facility and on fishing vessels. He/she will assess maintenance needs and plan, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance as well as manage and instruct multiple employees in good refrigeration operation and maintenance procedures and techniques.

The Plant Manager provides direction to the plant staff on all short and long-range plans and decisions. The Assistant Chief Engineer oversees the safe operation, daily monitoring and maintenance of the processing plant. Under direction, organizes, monitors, and supervises facility maintenance operations; performs a variety of technical tasks relative to facility maintenance; provides assistance to the Chief Engineer.

The QA Manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The QA Manager will oversee the Quality Control staff and ensure that proper documentation, inventory records, including Fleet QC issues and overall Quality is held to the Silver Bay Standards.
