The Production Supervisor for one of our Processing Facilities in Alaska will provide support to the production department by assisting the Production Manager with production operations.
We are currently looking for experienced Production Supervisors from within the fishing industry to work in the Roe Room, Case Up and Fish House.
-Maintains safety and efficiency in production plant.
-Coaches and motivates the crew in order to meet production deadlines and goals.
-Trains new personnel, when necessary.
-Reports mechanical breakdowns immediately to the maintenance crew.
-Assists Production Manager in making crew schedules and keeping track of attendance.
-Communicates frequently with the dock and sorting crews in order to keep track of incoming fish.
-Supports all department Supervisors and Leads by providing solutions to problems, filling in for breaks, counseling, and communicating lot changes.
-Ability to work long and odd hours 16 hours a day up to 7 days a week, depending on production needs, for duration of salmon season.
-Excellent communication skills. Proficient in English.
-Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Email.
-Two years Supervisor Experience in seafood processing plants or equivalent food processing.
-Must be familiar with salmon sorting by species.
-Must be proficient with common salmon processing equipment.
-Roe and shipping experience is a plus.
